It’s been a crazy time since THE SPACE BETWEEN BEFORE AND AFTER came out and my normal level of disorganization (which on a scale of 1 to 10, hovers around an 8 on a good day) has gone beyond the charts. But I’m working on it. So here’s an update!
I’m so excited that Julie over at the Booking Mama website has teamed up with my publisher, HarperCollins, for a 10-Book Giveaway! What fun! Also, HarperCollins is offering a “browse inside” feature on the book’s page at their website that lets you read over fifty, yes FIFTY, pages of the book online. I’m relatively new to the world of web book chatter and, I have to say, I’m loving all the sites devoted to books. The only problem is that I’m finding too many books that I want to read.
So speaking of the recent crazy weeks, I just finished a first draft of the next book and I’ve turned it in to my very patient editor. The most difficult part of having a new book out while I’m working on a new new book, is the way the characters are all living together up in my head at the same time. I keep waiting for the main character in the book I’m writing to begin talking to a secondary character from the book just on the stands. I’ll either figure this process out or therapy looms, I’m afraid. The new book, due out next year, will include a Boundtrack® – a list of songs that helped in my development of the characters – with a link to an iTunes mix that can be purchased and downloaded. I have a list like this in the supplemental section of THE SPACE BETWEEN BEFORE AND AFTER , also linked to iTunes, and it proved so popular with readers that I decided to come up with a new name for it. Hence, the Boundtrack®.
So to any of you who have checked out this site more than once, I apologize for the delay in this update. I’m going to shoot for short and frequent postings. My problem is that when I begin to write anything, I feel as if it has to be novel. Not so, my veteran web-posting friends tell me.
Also, please shoot me an email. Once I figured out a glitch in my email forwarding system (it was sending all my website mail to the “junk mail” folder – yikes!), I have been on top of things in that department, I think. But if you sent an email that I did not answer, please resend it. I am checking all the nooks and crannies of my web mail these days to make sure I don’t miss anything.
Thanks for checking this out and head over to the Booking Mama site for the giveaway!
