My Blog

April 22, 2008:

Welcome to my first blog posting! I had promised myself to have a web page by the time The Space Between Before and After was released, and thanks to a brilliant web designer (see below), it has actually happened.

This entire site and this page in particular are more than a bit daunting because I’m used to hiding behind my characters, and this is supposed to be “me”. I’ll be as open as possible in these entries without tipping into self-indulgence or the dreaded more-than-anyone-wants-to-know territory. But I am sure that this section will evolve, as I get more comfortable with this type of posting.

First, I have to offer undying gratitude to Diane Hammond (web genius and fellow author whose third book, Hannah's Dream, will come out with Harper Perennial in September). She designed, debugged and programmed jeanreynoldspage.com and got it up and running in record time. I’ll mention it again when the publication date is closer (and I’ll offer a link), but be on the lookout for Hannah's Dream, in the fall. I’ve gotten an early peek at the manuscript and it’s a wonderful book.

As for the maintenance of this page, I’m going to try and add entries at least a couple of times a week. Sometimes it will be random musings on books, family, life, etc. Other times I will respond to questions that come up often in emails to this site [jeannie@jeanreynoldspage.com].  I am looking forward to hearing from readers, so feel free to send thoughts and questions my way any time you like.

Finally, I will try to keep the subject of my dog to a minimum.  Winnie (an eight-year-old miniature schnauzer) is my most-constant companion during writing days and therefore figures into much of my conversation with friends and family.  But as fascinating as the dog is to me, I’ve been gently reminded by Rick and by my kids that she is a tad less amusing to the rest of the world. Therefore, I pledge to limit the puppy anecdotes.

So that’s it. My first blog-posting! Please do send emails because this site exists in order to bring me closer to readers.
